Glan Agua seeks a Junior MEICA Project Engineer to join our team at the Hospital Wwtp Co.Limerick site. You will work within a project team to deliver MEICA scopes, maintain health and safety standards, and prepare essential documentation for site activities.

Key duties include coordinating with suppliers, managing on-site materials, and supporting commissioning and testing. The role offers development opportunities through CPD and exposure to Engineering projects within a growing organisation.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 7 Honours Degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics, Chemical or Environmental Engineering.
  • Interest in developing a career within an industry-leading organisation.
  • Ability to work as part of a team in project delivery and provide input at team meetings.
  • Ability to engage with suppliers and sub-contractors at procurement stage and in delivery of their scope of supply during contract delivery.
  • Ability to use own initiative, problem solve and adjust as issues arise during project delivery.
  • Good working knowledge of MS packages such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint.
  • Strong communications skills with a high level of motivation.
  • Full driving licence.

Responsibilities

  • Assist commissioning and testing activities on-site.
  • Support process engineers to optimise the process and water quality.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

The main duties and responsibilities of the Junior MEICA Project Engineer are outlined as follows:

  • Work as part of a team in the delivery of one or more projects at any one time, embracing the ethos of a "one team" culture.
  • Ensure Health, Safety, Environmental & Sustainability standards, policies and procedures are always adhered to on-site.
  • Administration onsite of Health, Safety and Environmental procedures onsite.
  • Prepare detailed Method Statements and Risk Assessments prior to work activities commencing.
  • Engage with supplier and sub-contract chain to obtain technical proposals and pricing for their scope of supply.
  • Manage delivery of materials in-line with works programme and progress on-site.
  • Co-ordinate sub-contractors and direct staff to ensure project delivery in-line with works programme.
  • Conduct daily inspections on equipment and complete daily risks assessments.
  • In conjunction with the Project Manager and Project Engineer monitor works on-site to ensure conformance with design and Employer's Requirements.
  • Monitor progress onsite to ensure delivery in line with works programme.
  • Prepare and supervise completion of on-site test documentation such as site acceptance tests (SAT), inspection and test records (ITRs), pipe pressure testing, hydrostatic tank testing and commissioning of the works.
  • Preparation and submission of project handover files including O&M Manuals, Safety Files and As Constructed Drawings.
  • Assist the Commissioning Engineer onsite during the commissioning phase
  • Working with Process Engineers on process optimisation, including sampling and testing water quality
  • Keep appraised of the latest standards and technology through continuous professional development (CPD).

  • Other duties as required from time to time.
