Junior Marketing Co-ordinator Galway GAA

Cumann Lthchleas Gael (GAA) is Ireland's leading sporting and cultural organisation, with a membership approaching one million people and over 500,000 active participants at all levels of Gaelic Games. Driven by the voluntary efforts of our members, the GAA is dedicated to the promotion and development of Gaelic Games and Irish culture across the country and within local communities.

The role involves supporting the Finance and Operations Manager while playing a key role in enhancing the organisation's commercial and marketing presence. The successful candidate will be responsible for a range of marketing and administrative duties, ensuring the smooth running of day-to-day operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify and pursue new opportunities for revenue generation through sponsorships, partnerships, and other commercial initiatives.
  • Develop and implement marketing strategies to enhance Galway GAA's brand visibility and commercial footprint.
  • Support the Communications Officer in managing and developing the Galway GAA website and social media platforms.
  • Assist in the promotion and administration of club championship fixtures and related marketing campaigns.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with existing sponsors, partners, and stakeholders to ensure long-term collaboration and support.
  • Coordinate travel arrangements for Galway GAA county teams.
  • Deliver a high standard of customer service to sponsors and partners, responding promptly and professionally to queries.
  • Carry out general administrative tasks as required to support Galway GAA operations.
Essential Criteria
  • A third-level qualification in marketing or a minimum of one year's experience in a similar role.
  • Excellent organisational and administrative skills.
  • Ability to work independently and on one's own initiative.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities under pressure.
  • Proficiency in IT systems and office software packages.
  • A proven track record of working effectively both independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive working relationships with a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Willingness and flexibility to work evenings and weekends as required.
  • A good understanding of the GAA, its structure, and activities.
Desirable Criteria
  • Previous experience working with the GAA (or a similar organisation), either in a professional or voluntary capacity.
