Job summary

PERKINS & WILL IRELAND LIMITED in Dublin is seeking an entry-level Interior Designer to support our Corporate Interiors team on commercial and workplace projects across the globe.

You will work under guidance, developing skills in design processes, floor plans, client presentations, and coordination with consultants. The role offers hybrid working and access to social clubs and wellbeing initiatives.

Qualifications

  • Degree in Interior Design required.
  • Proficiency in Revit and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Knowledge of space planning and building codes preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Support interior design process under supervision; contribute to project goals and standards.
  • Assist in preparing contract documents, floor plans, details, schedules.
  • Create presentation materials and models for client presentations.
  • Learn spatial layout, color, light, texture and scale in projects.
  • Coordinate with partners and consultants; participate in design reviews.

Job Description

In this role, you will work directly with our talented Corporate Interiors department on array of commercial and workplace projects that span not just Ireland and UK, but across the globe. Our team is truly multi-disciplinary, and our range of perspectives and skillsets make us a uniquely resilient studio. As part of Perkins&Will, you will receive support, guidance and mentorship from our team who can help develop you as a interior design professional throughout your time with us. Overall responsibilities will include (but aren't limited to):

  • Provides assistance throughout the interior design process under routine guidance; contributes to the overall success of the team by adhering to firm and project goals and standards of excellence in interior design, execution, and Living Design.
  • Participates in preparing contract documents, including but not limited to floor plans and details, reflected ceiling plans, mill work design, furniture layouts, finish plans, and schedules.
  • Assists in creating presentation materials and models for client presentations.
  • Learns to manipulate basic design elements such as spatial layout, color, light, texture, and scale.
  • Researches manufacturers and contributes to selection of colors, finishes, materials, furniture, and lighting for interior application, ensuring sustainability goals of the firm are maintained.
  • Contributes to programming and space planning analysis and provides area calculations.
  • Proactively asks questions and expresses curiosity about the world of design and the industry at large.
  • Uses a creative approach to perform tasks and responsibilities on projects in an organised, timely, and consistent way.
  • Provides support to tasks within project teams (may focus on individual detailed tasks) and studio activities.
  • Communicates ideas and thoughts in a way that inspires others.
  • Participates in design reviews, charettes, and pin-ups.
  • Assists with coordination among partners and consultants.
Proficiencies
  • Personable, presentable and articulate.
  • Sound understanding of building codes and guidelines as applicable.
  • Sound knowledge in programming and site analysis.
  • Strong time management and organisational skills.
  • Strong understanding of conducting field observations and measurements.
  • Strong understanding of furniture and interior product specifications.
Software skills
  • Revit [Required]
  • Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, Illustrator, etc.) [Required]
  • Rhino / Grasshopper [Desirable]
  • Enscape / VRay [Desirable]
Education Requirement
  • A Degree in an Interior Design related field [Required]
