Due to continuing expansion, Summerhill Construction are seeking motivated Junior Health & Safety officers to join our team. The successful candidates will work across various projects.

The Role

Reporting to the Health & Safety Manager and senior officers, the candidate will be eager to learn and be confident in conducting site inspections, audits and developing procedures and regulations.

Responsibilities

These include but are not limited to:

  • Health and Safety ensuring all of the requirements are adhered to and that safety protocols on site are of the highest possible standard
  • Report into the Health & Safety Manager and senior officers
  • Remain up-to-date with current health & safety policies and procedures
  • Liaise with site teams regularly and be the point of contact for Health & Safety
  • Conduct site inspections, audits, site walks and reports
  • Complete all relevant paperwork and ensure it is processed and actioned
  • Ensure Health & Safety has a major presence on site
  • Conduct Health & Safety briefings
  • Attend site meetings
  • Liaise with the client and ensure any requirements are met
  • Complete any other relevant duties

Key Skills & Experience

A successful candidate will demonstrate the following:

  • Diploma Health & Safety & Welfare at Work
  • Valid Safe Pass
  • Health & Safety background
  • Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook
  • Strong communication skills (both written and oral)
  • Ability to take initiative and work both individually and as a strong team player
