Reporting to: Social Media & Content Manager

Materials Direct supplies building and retrofit materials to trade customers and homeowners. We are developing our marketing and digital content activity and are looking for a creative, organised Junior Content & Social Media Executive to join us. This is an opportunity for a graduate or someone at the beginning of their content and marketing career to gain practical experience across photography, video, social media, product content and eCommerce. You will work directly with our Social Media & Content Manager, receiving clear briefs, feedback and coaching while helping bring our products, customers and projects to life.

Key Responsibilities

• Capturing photographs and video of products, demonstrations, projects and events.
• Creating short videos and Reels, including editing, captions and subtitles.
• Writing social captions and scheduling approved posts.
• Preparing images and content for our website, product pages and campaigns.
• Helping capture customer and installer testimonials and develop case studies.
• Organising photographs, footage and finished content in our media library.
• Adapting content for use across social media, website, email and other channels.
• Tracking basic content results and suggesting improvements.
• Developing your confidence presenting product and educational content on camera.

Required Qualifications & Skills

• Enjoy creating photographs, videos and social content.
• Can show examples of content you have personally produced.
• Have basic editing skills using tools such as CapCut, Canva, Adobe Premiere Pro or similar.
• Write clearly and have good attention to spelling, accuracy and detail.
• Are organised, dependable and comfortable working to deadlines.
• Enjoy meeting people and can communicate professionally with customers and colleagues.
• Are willing to learn about building materials, retrofit products and their uses.
• Welcome feedback and want to develop your skills.
• Can attend the agreed workplace and travel to filming locations and events as required.
• A qualification in marketing, digital media, communications, photography, film or a related subject would be helpful.
• Examples from college, personal projects, clubs, volunteering, internships or freelance work are welcome.
• Experience with product photography, website content, social scheduling, analytics or AI-assisted content tools would be an advantage.
• Previous full-time marketing employment is not essential.
