Job summary

R&D Partners in Ireland seeks an experienced Laboratory IT Systems Support Specialist to provide day-to-day support, maintenance, and configuration of validated laboratory IT systems in a regulated setting.

You will work with laboratory teams, vendors, and IT infrastructure to ensure systems are reliable, compliant, and aligned with GMP and data integrity standards. Strong problem-solving and documentation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience with laboratory IT systems (LIMS/Empower) in regulated environments.
• Basic SQL and database understanding.
• Familiar with GMP, Data Integrity and cybersecurity.
• Experience with system validation and documentation.
• Excellent cross-functional communication.

Responsibilities

• Provide support for laboratory software and systems such as LIMS, Empower.
• Troubleshoot user access, software configurations, and data flow.
• Manage system integrations between lab instruments, databases, and enterprise systems.
• Maintain system settings, user roles, and security controls per compliance policies.
• Assist with backups, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting.
• Support validation activities including testing and documentation.
• Coordinate upgrades and patches with minimal lab disruption.
• Create and update SOPs and user guides.
• Provide evidence during audits and inspections.
• Train lab users on system workflows and best practices.
• Collaborate with vendors for issue resolution.

Are you experienced and skilled in IT looking for a new challenge as a User Support Specialist?

R&D Partners is seeking a Laboratory IT Systems Support Specialist to provide day-to-day support, maintenance, and configuration of laboratory IT systems in a regulated environment. You will work closely with laboratory teams, vendors, and IT infrastructure groups to ensure systems are reliable, compliant, and meet operational needs. This role focuses on troubleshooting, system improvements, and maintaining compliance with industry standards.

Responsibilities:

• Provide support for laboratory software and systems, such as LIMS, Empower, and other lab applications.
• Troubleshoot and resolve system issues, including user access, software configurations, and data flow.
• Manage system integrations between lab instruments, databases, and enterprise systems.
• Maintain system settings, user roles, and security controls in line with compliance policies.
• Assist with database-related tasks, such as backups, monitoring, and basic troubleshooting.
• Support system validation activities, including testing, documentation, and periodic reviews.
• Coordinate system upgrades, patches, and maintenance with minimal disruption to lab operations.
• Create and update system documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and user guides.
• Provide evidence and documentation during audits and inspections.
• Train lab users on system workflows and best practices.
• Collaborate with vendors for issue resolution and system enhancements.

Key Skills and Requirements:

• Familiarity with laboratory IT systems and software (e.g., LIMS, Empower, FTIR, UV).
• Basic understanding of database management and SQL.
• Knowledge of compliance standards like GMP, Data Integrity, and cybersecurity.
• Strong problem-solving skills and ability to troubleshoot technical issues.
• Experience with system validation processes and documentation.
• Excellent communication skills to work with cross-functional teams and vendors.
