Job summary

Citco in Dublin seeks a senior software engineering leader who combines hands-on architecture with strong technical leadership to deliver Private Equity technology solutions.

You will actively contribute to architecture, software development, design and production support while guiding teams across multiple projects. The role requires expert understanding of event-driven patterns, REST/GraphQL, and cloud-native delivery.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent.
• Hands-on technical leadership with architectural delivery.
• Experience with AI-assisted development tools.
• Experience integrating AI into POC/MVP/production.
• Security, privacy, governance for enterprise AI.

Private Equity IT develops and supports strategic applications across fund accounting, reporting, workflow automation, data integration, cloud services and financial calculations. Our teams work across multiple products and projects, providing broad business and technical exposure while delivering the reliability, scalability and security expected of enterprise financial systems.

We are looking for a senior software engineering leader who combines deep technical expertise with strong technical leadership skills. This is a highly hands‑on role where you will actively contribute to architecture, software development, technical design and production support while guiding engineering teams delivering strategic Private Equity solutions.

The position is based in our development center in Dublin and may require some international travel to other CITCO locations.

About You

You are an experienced software engineering leader who combines hands‑on technical expertise with strong technical and people leadership and sound judgement to lead the delivery of complex solutions.

Required Skills:

• Proven experience as a senior technical leader:
  • Remains hands‑on across architecture, design, development, code review, troubleshooting and production support, leading by example through direct participation in delivery.
  • Mentors and coaches developers through active collaboration and technical leadership.
  • Drives engineering excellence through modern development practices, automated testing, CI/CD and continuous improvement.
  • Partners with business stakeholders to translate complex business requirements into robust technical solutions.
• Demonstrable experience effectively utilizing AI‑assisted development tools to improve developer productivity, code quality, testing and documentation.
  • Experience integrating LLM and agentic AI capabilities into proof‑of‑concept, MVP or production solutions where they provide measurable business value.
  • Ability to apply sound engineering judgement when reviewing, validating and deploying AI‑generated outputs.
  • Appreciation of the security, privacy, governance and compliance considerations associated with enterprise AI adoption.
• Demonstrable experience of the following:
  • Accurately estimating size/complexity of software development projects
  • Delivering complex software projects on time, within budget and agreed scope with low production defect rates.
• Strong technical understanding of the following:
  • Event‑driven architecture and asynchronous integration patterns
  • Web services, REST/GraphQL, with either .NET or Python
  • React‑based Front End development
  • Serverless architecture, preferably on AWS
  • Data security and privacy best practices, data governance and compliance requirements
• Outstanding troubleshooting skills and adaptability and willingness to learn new technologies
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact effectively throughout the organization at all levels.
• Must be able to handle multiple assignments simultaneously, have strong organizational skills and effective delegation of tasks to team members
• Demonstrates competence in key areas of management and leadership expertise including: relationship and conflict management, communication, quality management, risk management, and the achievement of targets
• Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Information Systems or equivalent
• The following skills are a plus:
• Working knowledge of accounting and reporting principles in the Private Equity area
• Working knowledge of performance fee, management fee, carry and equivalent calculations
• Ability to effectively convey information of a highly technical nature to non-technical audiences

• Within your first 12 months you will
  • Deliver strategic software solutions on a regular release cycle with high quality and low production defect rates.
  • Prove ability to grasp complex business requirements and turn them into functional and secure solutions through appropriate application of AI‑assisted development tools.
  • Contribute directly to the design and implementation of cloud‑native solutions.
  • Help establish engineering practices that improve both delivery speed and software quality.
  • Mentor engineers through active technical collaboration and example.
