Unijobs on behalf of National College Art & Design are currently recruiting for IT Support Officers. This position is to be filled ASAP with any interested candidates to be available to commence work immediately. The hourly rate of pay is €13.50 per hour. This is a full time position of 35 hours per week and this contract will hold a duration of one month only.

Purpose of the Position

NCAD has made some changes to backend infrastructure and now needs to move all staff and students onto these new/reconfigured services:

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Ensure students have logged into their student email account (+ how to turn on 2FA)
  • Moving all staff and students onto the wireless network Eduroam. This will mean assisting staff/students with resetting their temporary eduroam password (some staff/students may wish to use Google Authenticator for MFA on password management); installing the tool and making sure the staff/student device(s) are connected
  • Assisting staff/students on using the new SSO system - NCAD moving away from authenticating to LDAP and instead authenticating to AD/IdP instead. As in step 1. above this will involve ensuring students understand this is a separate account to Eduroam above. For the SSO therefore assist with resetting their IdP/AD temp password (as above some staff/students may wish to use Google Authenticator for MFA on password management); ensure students can log into services that use SSO - Canvas (VLE); MyNCAD (Quercus); Library; Print/Photocopier System (+ ensure students know how to top up their credit); using filesender; and Workvivo which is available to staff only
  • Show students how to log a ticket with IT if they require assistance throughout year.
