Oliver James Associates Ltd. is seeking an IT Security Operations Engineer to join the internal technology team in Dublin City Centre.

The role focuses on monitoring alerts, investigating incidents and helping strengthen security controls across Microsoft 365, endpoints, cloud and on-premise environments. The successful candidate will have extensive hands-on security operations experience, with strong knowledge of Microsoft Defender, Entra ID, CA, MFA and security tooling, plus the ability to

Qualifications

• Degree in Computer Science, IT, Cybersecurity or related discipline, or equivalent hands-on experience.
• 5+ years' experience in security operations or similar role, preferably in regulated or corporate environment.
• Strong knowledge of Microsoft security technologies (Defender, Entra ID, CA, MFA, 365 security).

Responsibilities

• Monitor, triage and investigate security alerts across cloud and on-prem environments.
• Support incident response from initial investigation to remediation and reporting.
• Review vulnerability scan results and coordinate remediation with teams.
• Administer and tune Microsoft security tooling (Defender, Entra ID, CA, MFA).
• Work with teams to improve security posture through hardening and patching.
• Assist with governance, risk and compliance activities (ISO 27001, GDPR).
• Support secure network operations (firewall rules, VPN, web filtering).
• Maintain incident response playbooks and runbooks.
