We can offer some flexibility around an individual’s skill set but would expect reasonable coverage of the following areas:
Managing a portfolio of defined contribution pension scheme clients on a day-to-day basis, providing proactive advice and recommendations on a range of investment-related issues and ensuring on-going compliance with regulations.
Developing in-depth knowledge of Mercer’s best ideas, investment capabilities and solutions in order to provide best advice and communicate effectively to clients.
Presenting at client meetings, providing an update on the performance of a client’s portfolio and providing advice on all aspects of the client’s investment arrangements including investment strategy, manager selection and portfolio construction.
Ensuring clients are kept informed of major developments in the industry and advised on developments that may impact their investment arrangements.
Overseeing implementation of changes to investment manager arrangements, to investment strategy or to governance arrangements.
Liaising with colleagues across business lines to achieve successful investment outcomes for our clients.
Maximise revenue opportunities across a portfolio of clients by expanding our solutions and services to them.
Assist with training and development of junior colleagues.
What you will need to have:
Client-centric approach with 5+ years’ investment experience
Understanding of pensions, investment markets and asset classes
Excellent interpersonal and presentation skills coupled with an ability to communicate across all levels and functions
The ability to build solid working relationships with clients and colleagues
Highly motivated and enthusiastic with proactive attitude and willingness to innovate and adopt new ideas and practices
Project management skills; proven ability to manage simultaneous projects and to meet multiple deadlines
Flexibility of approach and proven ability to work under pressure
Ability to work on own initiative and to work effectively as part of a team
Attention-to-detail is critical
