Job summary

Timoney is seeking an Intern Mechanical Engineer to join our design team in Navan. You will work on vehicle suspension, driveline, and powertrain projects, contributing to internal and client initiatives.

The role is suited to a current Mechanical Engineering student, with hands-on CAD experience and interest in vehicle development. You will collaborate across engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Currently pursuing a Mechanical Engineering degree.
• Experience with one or more major 3D CAD systems (SolidWorks, ProE or CATIA).
• Experience with simulation tools such as MATLAB/Simulink would be advantageous.
• Experience with design analysis tools such as ANSYS would be advantageous.

Responsibilities

• Produce high-quality design solutions for suspension, driveline, and powertrain systems.
• Deliver cost-effective project designs on time in a busy environment.
• Maintain quality standards for 3D models and manufacturing drawings.
• Communicate clearly with clients and suppliers.
• Contribute to updating the Timoney knowledge database.
• Help develop quality standards and processes.

Due to continued expansion, Timoney has an exciting opportunity for an Intern Mechanical Engineer to join our team.

The Role

Timoney is seeking an Intern Mechanical Engineer to work as part of our design teams on internal and client projects. We develop all aspects of vehicle suspension, driveline, and powertrain systems.

• Produce high-quality design solutions for all types of suspension, driveline, and powertrain systems.
• Deliver cost-effective project designs on time, in a busy, fast-paced environment.
• Maintain quality standards for project 3D models and manufacturing drawings.
• Communicate clearly both internally and externally to clients & suppliers.
• Contribute to the ongoing update of the Timoney knowledge database.
• Help develop quality standards and processes.

The Person

• Currently studying a degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• Highly motivated self-starter who will also be able to operate in a team environment.
• The candidate should have experience using one or more of the major 3D CAD systems (SolidWorks, ProE or CATIA).
• Experience in using simulation tools (e.g., MATLAB, / Simulink or equivalent) would be a distinct advantage.
• Experience with design analysis tools such as ANSYS would be an advantage.
• Strong design and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communicator with the ability to work closely with colleagues across the Engineer, Manufacturing and Quality teams
• An interest in vehicles and product development.
