ID Recruitment is assisting a Castlebar-based engineering firm in finding a proactive R&D Mechanical Project Engineer. The role covers the full project lifecycle from concept to manufacturing and installation, with emphasis on delivering efficient, innovative solutions.

You will work closely with the R&D Manager, leverage SolidWorks, BIM, and CAD automation tools, and contribute to process improvements while maintaining thorough technical documentation and reporting.

Qualifications

• Honors degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• At least 1 year experience in mechanical design/building services engineering.
• Proficiency in SolidWorks; working knowledge of Revit and BIM coordination.
• Experience using CAD automation tools such as DriveWorks.
• Willingness to adopt AI-driven tools to improve efficiency and innovation.
• Strong technical writing with clear reporting and documentation.
• Excellent analytical, creative thinking and problem-solving abilities.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills within a team.
• Knowledge of product development, testing and evaluation processes.
• EU work authorisation and fluent business English.

Responsabilités

• Attend weekly project meetings and provide updates on R&D progress.
• Support development and optimization of R&D processes and procedures.
• Maintain and manage project GANTT charts to meet targets and deadlines.
• Collaborate with R&D Manager to prioritise and plan activities.
• Research emerging technologies to support innovation.
• Proactively contribute to product development and problem-solving.
• Monitor KPIs and project performance metrics.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive product development.
• Prepare reports, documentation, and instructional materials as required.
