Job summary

Audit & Risk Recruitment is seeking an IT Internal Audit Manager for Europe, with offices in Dublin, Berlin or Paris and up to 20% travel. You will lead risk-based IT audits across infrastructure, cloud, applications and fintech platforms, ensuring security and regulatory compliance in a live production environment.

The role requires 6–8 years in IT audit or technology risk, strong stakeholder management, and experience with ITGCs, cloud security, and regulatory frameworks.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Evaluate cloud security controls, particularly within AWS environments.
• Audit payment systems and fintech products to ensure security and compliance throughout the development lifecycle.
• Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders and write audit reports.
• Help evolve audit methodologies, tools and technology risk assessment practices.
• Report directly to the Head of Internal Audit.

Audit & Risk Recruitment is looking for an IT Internal Audit Manager in Europe for a strong fintech brand.

Locations: Dublin/Berlin/Paris (in office 3 to 4 x per week with flexibility when required). You must be based in one of these locations and happy with around 20 percent travel.

We are looking for a curiously-minded IT auditor who is experienced in auditing IT systems and IT infrastructures, ideally in a fast-faced technology environment who has demonstrable experience communicating effectively with a variety of stakeholders (from engineers to auditors to the finance department).

We are not looking for someone to simply come in and conduct ITGC and ITACs testing, we are looking for someone to take the crucial role of systems and infrastructure auditing, assessing security and regulatory compliance in a live production environment while taking ownership of the projects.

You’ll play a critical role in auditing a cloud environment, diverse business platforms, cybersecurity controls, and technology governance frameworks while helping shape the future direction of IT audit within the organisation.

The role:

• Lead risk-based IT audits across infrastructure, cloud environments, applications, and technology operations
• Assess IT General Controls (ITGCs), access and change management, cybersecurity controls, governance frameworks, and risk management processes
• Evaluate cloud security controls, particularly within AWS environments
• Audit payment systems and fintech products to ensure security and compliance requirements are included throughout the development lifecycle
• Present findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders as well as write audit reports
• Help evolve audit methodologies, tools, and technology risk assessment practices
• You will report directly to the Head of Internal Audit

Experience required:

• Around 6 to 8 years of experience in IT Audit, Internal Audit, Technology Risk, IT Controls, Infrastructure and Systems audits
• Big 4 backgrounds in addition to in house are welcome, however, Big 4 only profiles cannot be considered at this time.
• Experience in fast-paced environments, ideally in businesses with complex IT systems and platforms
• Experience within regulated industries such as Financial Services, Payments, Fintech, Technology, Data etc.
• You must have strong communication skills; effective stakeholder management is essential.
• Experience auditing cloud infrastructure, networks, security operations, disaster recovery.
• Experience in dealing with incidents and disaster recovery
• Demonstrable experience working independently
• Strong understanding of IT controls, risk management, and governance principles
• Experience with some of the frameworks: COBIT, ISO 27001, PCI DSS, NIST, ITIL, GDPR
• Qualifications are preferred but not essential: CISA/CIA/CISSP/CISM etc.
