Job summary

Cpl Healthcare is seeking an Information Security Manager to oversee security strategies in a public-sector technology environment in Dublin. This 3-year fixed-term contract role involves developing security policies, managing risk frameworks, and providing guidance to cultivate cyber awareness across the organization. The ideal candidate holds a third-level degree in IT and has substantial leadership experience in cybersecurity. Industry certifications such as CISSP, CISM, or CISA are highly desirable. A hybrid work model is in place, with opportunities for remote work.

Information Security Manager – Higher Education Sector – Dublin City (Hybrid)

This is a 3-year fixed-term contract role based in Dublin City. Hybrid model in place with 2 days remote per week. You'll lead security strategy across a large, public-sector technology environment.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and lead the university’s information security strategy, policies, and risk framework.
• Manage the information security risk register and mitigation actions.
• Oversee security architecture and controls across systems and networks.
• Lead incident response, including simulations and investigations.
• Provide expert guidance to leadership, and drive a culture of cyber awareness.

Requirements:

• 5+ years in IT leadership with a strong focus on cyber/information security.
• Third-level degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related area.
• Industry certifications (CISSP, CISM, CISA) are highly desirable.
• Strong experience with frameworks like ISO 27001, NIST, and regulations like GDPR/NIS2.
• Proven ability to lead a security team and manage technical and vendor relationships.
