Job summary

Enva is hiring for a hands-on Industrial Operative in Portlaoise. The role is 80% operative work and 20% driving, performing heavy industrial cleaning, entering confined spaces, and wearing full safety gear and breathing apparatus.

The position offers overtime, daily allowances, and comprehensive benefits. A pre-employment medical assessment and drug testing are required during recruitment.

Qualifications

• Valid commercial Driving Licence (Class C or CE) with Driver CPC and Tachograph card.
• Willingness to be clean-shaven to ensure airtight seal for respirators.
• Able to work in industrial environments, confined spaces and outdoors in all weather.
• Safety-first mindset and reliable attendance.
• Desirable: ADR/Confined Space certificate or drainage/civils/high-pressure jetting experience.

Responsibilities

• Industrial cleaning of drains, interceptors, tanks, and sewerage systems.
• Enter confined spaces to perform decommissioning and cleaning tasks.
• Drive and operate company vehicles, including HGVs for waste services.
• Assist with emergency spill response and environmental remediation.
• Support with basic civils tasks and CCTV surveys as needed.
• Represent the brand professionally with customers and site management.

What We Need From You (Qualifications & Requirements)

To safely operate our equipment and specialized fleet, you must already possess the following qualifications:

• Driving Credentials (Mandatory): You must hold a valid commercial Driving Licence (Class C or CE), a fully valid and up-to-date Driver CPC, and an active Digital Tachograph card.
• Safety Compliance (Critical): You must be willing to be clean-shaven when required to ensure a perfect, airtight seal for full-face breathing masks and specialized protective safety gear.
• Physical Capability: Completely comfortable working in industrial environments, within confined spaces, and outdoors in all weather conditions.
• Reliability: A strong personal commitment to maintaining a Safety-First Culture across the business at all times.
• Bonus (Desirable but not essential): Previous experience in drainage, civils, high-pressure water jetting, vacuum tankers, or holding a live ADR/Confined Space certificate is a major plus.

What the Role Involves (80% Operative / 20% Driving)

Playing a vital role day-to-day within our Industrial Services division, your key responsibilities will include:

• Industrial Cleaning: Heavy cleaning projects, including interceptors, bunds, drains, sewers, septic tanks, and specialized underground/above-ground storage tanks.
• Confined Space Operations: Safely entering and executing decommissioning and cleaning services within confined spaces using electronic and mechanical equipment.
• Fleet Operation: Driving and operating company vehicles, including HGVs for waste services and the carriage of dangerous substances.
• Emergency Response: Assisting with emergency oil or chemical spill responses and environmental remediation services.
• Technical & Civils Support: Performing drainage rehabilitation, basic civils tasks, garage forecourt maintenance, and assisting with CCTV pipeline surveys.
• Brand Representation: Acting courteously and communicating effectively with customers, suppliers, and site management to project a highly professional image.
