Job summary

Grainne Hurley Consulting seeks a hands-on Automation Engineer to support equipment and reporting systems in a complex production facility. You will contribute to early specification to ensure reliability, redundancy and system integration from the start.

You will stay up to date with the latest technologies to keep the company ahead, providing actionable information in the right format for informed decisions across the team.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronic, Automation, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 1 year of hands-on experience in industrial control systems.
• Proven experience in programming and troubleshooting Siemens or equivalent PLC platforms.
• Familiarity with specification, design, and monitoring of OEM control systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain software for PLC-based control systems.
• Integrate machines with plant-wide systems and infrastructure.
• Design, implement, and maintain data logging and historian systems for process monitoring.
• Provide technical support for site control systems and automation infrastructure.
• Support deployment and integration of MES.
• Ensure all system documentation is accurate and up-to-date.
• Collaborate with on-site maintenance teams for troubleshooting.
• Manage external contractors during installations, upgrades and validations.
• Lead automation and control system projects from planning to reporting.
