Job summary

UNSW in Sydney seeks an Indigenous academic leader to shape the future of the Faculty of Engineering. This identified role targets leadership in Indigenous initiatives with the option of an Associate Dean appointment alongside an academic role.

Appointment levels may range from Lecturer to Professor (Level B–E). Engineering expertise is not required; leadership, community connection, and curriculum development are valued.

Qualifications

• Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander identity, cultural knowledge, lived experience, and community connection.
• Leadership experience in higher education, education, community, government, industry, not-for-profit, or related sectors.
• Passion for advancing Indigenous student success, engagement, and participation.
• Experience developing programs, initiatives, curriculum, partnerships, or community-led outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Provide leadership in advancing Indigenous initiatives within the Faculty of Engineering.
• Embed Indigenous knowledges and strengthen student success.
• Build community partnerships and contribute to strategic priorities.
• Lead or contribute to teaching, research, or curriculum initiatives as appropriate.
