Job summary

Amazon in Ireland is seeking an ID Install Tech to join the Rack Install team. You will manage work via ticketing, collaborate with stakeholders, and travel up to 80% to install and configure hardware across sites.   • Specify power and cooling requirements and ensure hardware racking/stacking completed for new equipment
  • Complete customer requests via Remedy trouble ticketing system
  • Participate in the migration, basic configuration and rollout of new or upgraded hardware

Job description

We are looking to hire a highly motivated, best-in-class ID Install Tech to join our Rack Install team. The candidate will work with minimum supervision in a dynamic environment to drive the installation of next-generation networks.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage work and priorities through ticketing system and workflow
  • Collaborate with various stakeholders to remove project obstacles
  • Ability to travel within geographical work area; up to 80% travel outside traditional work area required
  • Troubleshoot networking, routing and interconnectivity issues, including network device configuration and low- to mid-level application interaction
  • Troubleshoot cabling infrastructure connectivity issues, including patch panels and patch cords

Basic Qualifications
  • High school or equivalent diploma
  • Experience with computer hardware troubleshooting and repair
  • Experience in networking

Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience dealing effectively with customers during problem resolution and operating efficiently under pressure
  • Knowledge of fiber optic and copper cabling standards, testing equipment and troubleshooting methodologies
  • Knowledge of server hardware and components
  • Knowledge of cloud computing technologies
