Job summary

Egis is seeking a Hydrogeologist to join our Ireland team. The role can be based from any of our main offices in Ireland: Dublin, Cork, Limerick, or Castlebar.

You will lead groundwater studies and collaborate with government, clients, and communities to plan, design, and safeguard water resources as part of sustainable infrastructure projects. You will manage impact assessments, monitor water quality, and ensure regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Relevant professional experience in hydrology / hydrogeology.
• Minimum Level 8 BSc/MSc in Hydrogeology, Geology, Environmental Science, or related discipline.
• Chartered or working towards Chartership with Geological Society or CIWEM.
• Experience with groundwater sampling, drilling supervision, or flood risk desirable.
• Proven experience managing complex groundwater assessments and environmental impact projects.
• Strong knowledge of Irish/EU water and environmental legislation.
• Proficient in hydrogeological modelling tools, GIS, and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Conduct hydrological/hydrogeological impact assessments.
• Collect and analyse water quality and quantity data.
• Develop and manage groundwater monitoring programs.
• Prepare WFD, GWDTE, and Risk assessments.
• Contribute to EIARs and regulatory submissions.
• Liaise with clients, local and wider geo-environmental team and other disciplines on key projects.
• Project scoping, planning and programming.
• Input into tenders and preparation of fee proposals.
• Undertake role of employer’s representative / Supervisor on site investigation projects.
