Job summary

Uisce Éireann Asset Operations forms the cornerstone of service delivery, protecting the environment and meeting regulatory standards. The Roads & Utilities Lead will oversee a team of Engineers & Analysts and reports directly to the Roads & Utilities Manager, ensuring efficient delivery of operational objectives.

Qualifications

• A third-level qualification in engineering or a related discipline is required.
• At least 5 years of relevant experience in facilities, roads, or utilities management.
• Comprehensive technical knowledge of utility networks or road maintenance.
• Experience in project or programme management would be an advantage.
• Strong communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with ability to navigate contracts and commercial considerations.

Responsibilities

• Develop an internal knowledge centre with core competency in roadworks, traffic management and reinstatement.
• Lead a team of Roads & Utilities Engineers & Analysts, ensuring capacity and expertise to meet requirements.
• Stand up effective road opening licensing, reinstatement processes, and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
• Oversee contractor performance, safety, quality, time and budgeting targets, and manage related risks.
• Build strong relationships with Roads Authorities and other internal/external stakeholders to fulfil Uisce Éireann obligations.
• Utilise asset management IT systems (Maximo) and MapRoad for efficient operations.
