Job summary

SMBC is seeking a Full Stack .NET Developer to join its Development team in Tralee. The role involves hands-on work across the full stack, building web applications, REST APIs and backend services within a global financial services environment.

You will require strong C#/.NET experience, robust SQL skills (Oracle/SQL Server) and a track record of delivering scalable business solutions. This is a hybrid role with office attendance in Tralee and remote work options.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems or a related discipline.
• 5+ years of full stack software development experience.
• Strong C#/.NET development and object-oriented programming experience.
• Experience developing web applications, user interfaces, RESTful APIs and backend services.
• Strong Oracle and/or Microsoft SQL Server database experience.
• Advanced SQL skills, including complex joins, stored procedures, query optimisation and performance tuning.
• Strong knowledge of relational database concepts, data modelling and database design.
• Experience with application integrations, enterprise systems and application architecture.
• Experience supporting, debugging and troubleshooting production applications.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and root cause analysis skills.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication and collaboration skills.
• Self-motivated with a strong sense of ownership, accountability and teamwork.
• Commitment to continuous learning and professional growth.
• Experience within financial services or banking is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test and support full stack applications using C#/.NET technologies.
• Develop web applications, user interfaces, RESTful APIs, backend services and workflow solutions.
• Design and maintain complex SQL queries, stored procedures, views and database objects.
• Gather and analyse business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Troubleshoot application, integration and database issues.
• Provide production support, root cause analysis, system maintenance and performance tuning.
• Collaborate with business users, analysts, architects and development teams to deliver scalable and reliable solutions.
• Participate in application design, code reviews, testing, deployment and continuous improvement.
• Produce and maintain technical documentation.
