Job summary

Optum Ireland seeks an EHR System Specialist for Ancillary Clinical Applications to support, configure, and optimize ancillary systems linked to the core EHR platform. You will ensure reliability and performance, provide end-user support, and drive continuous improvement in workflows.

The role values strong communication, problem-solving, and collaboration with clinical and IT teams; hybrid work with 3 days in Letterkenny and 2 days remote.

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge of information systems and clinical systems in hospital operations.
• Ability to triage incidents, manage escalations with vendors, and maintain stability.
• Familiarity with system lifecycle activities, upgrades and patches.
• Understanding of ITSM processes: incident, problem, change management.
• Strong communication and collaboration with clinicians, IT teams and vendors.
• Ability to support on-call rotation and occasional after-hours work.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day support and optimization of clinical applications to ensure reliability.
• Translate workflow needs into system solutions with clinical/operational stakeholders.
• Perform maintenance tasks, triage requests, provisioning, and manage error queues.
• Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, implement resolutions.
• Design, configure, and enhance workflows to support clinical operations.
• Maintain performance and configuration aligned with SLAs.
• Develop and maintain documentation for workflows, testing and configurations.
• Ensure end-to-end integrity of clinical systems with technical and clinical teams.
• Support upgrades, patches, integrations, and change deployments.
• Operate within ITSM processes and collaborate with vendors.
