Job summary

Optum in Ireland is seeking a Data Product Manager to join the Optum Rx Underwriting product team. You will own discovery, roadmap, and delivery for data-driven products, working with Data Engineering, Analytics, and Tech to turn complex data problems into scalable products.

You will collaborate across teams, manage backlogs, define success metrics and ensure data governance, privacy, and regulatory compliance throughout the lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data, Engineering, or a related discipline.
• Proven solid experience in Technical Product Management, Data Product Management or Analytics.
• Demonstrated experience delivering data-driven products from discovery through production.
• Solid SQL proficiency for querying, analyzing, and validating data.
• Experience with data pipelines, ETL/ELT, data modeling, quality, and governance.
• Experience with modern data platforms, including Databricks.
• Strong understanding of Agile product development, backlog management, prioritization.
• Ability to translate business problems into clear technical requirements with engineering teams.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and stakeholder management skills.

Responsibilities

• Own the product vision, roadmap and backlog for data-driven products and capabilities.
• Identify problems with stakeholders and translate them into clear product requirements.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, Analytics, Architecture and Technology teams.
• Use SQL and data analysis to investigate problems and validate assumptions.
• Build data pipelines, ETL/ELT, data models and APIs for data platforms.
• Work with Databricks and other platforms to understand data ingestion and governance.
• Define user stories, acceptance criteria, data requirements and success metrics.
• Prioritize work based on value, feasibility, risk and priorities.
• Monitor KPIs related to product adoption, data quality, reliability and outcomes.
• Ensure data privacy, security, governance and regulatory considerations.
• Lead Agile practices: refinement, planning and stakeholder communication.
• Communicate complex data concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
