Job summary

FinOps Weekly is seeking an AI FinOps Engineer in Dublin to own financial operations for AI infrastructure, including Bedrock, Lambda, and data pipelines. You will implement cost attribution, develop chargeback models for brand teams, and drive ongoing optimization as AI workloads scale.

The role requires strong FinOps discipline, experience with AWS cost tools, and the ability to communicate financial data to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Hybrid work model in Ireland.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of FinOps, cloud cost management, or financial operations experience.
• Deep knowledge of AWS cost management tools: Cost Explorer, Budgets, Compute Optimizer, Trusted Advisor.
• Strong understanding of AWS pricing models: On-Demand, Reserved Instances, Savings Plans, Spot.
• Experience building cost allocation models and chargeback systems.
• Proficiency with data analysis tools.
• Familiarity with infrastructure as code and how it impacts costs.
• Strong communication skills — translate financial data for technical and non-technical audiences.
• Experience in regulated environments where financial controls matter.

Responsibilities

• Cost Monitoring & Attribution across AI platform services and brands.
• Design and operate chargeback/showback systems for transparent cost allocation.
• Forecasting & Budgeting for AI workloads and infrastructure spend.
• Cost Optimization through model selection, capacity tuning, caching, and architectural changes.
• Vendor Management for AI commitments and pricing optimization.
• Financial Governance: spend limits, approvals, anomaly detection, guardrails.
• Reporting & Analysis: executive dashboards and cost trend analysis.
• Collaboration with Engineers and Brand teams to optimize cost efficiency.
