Job summary

Orange Recruitment is working with a growing mechanical and building services contractor to recruit an experienced HVAC & Air Conditioning Technician. This hands-on role focuses on fault-finding, maintenance, and solving technical issues across commercial heating, ventilation and cooling systems.

You’ll service, inspect, and repair VRF/VRV systems, AHUs, and related plant across client sites, ensuring reliability and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience with commercial HVAC and air conditioning systems.
• Good fault-finding and repair skills on VRF/VRV equipment and AHUs.
• Ability to plan maintenance and manage workloads effectively.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine servicing, inspections, and planned maintenance on HVAC systems including air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, and related plant.
• Investigate faults and carry out repairs on VRF/VRV systems, AHUs, and related equipment.
• Respond to breakdowns promptly to minimise disruption for customers.
• Assess system performance and identify improvements to reliability and energy efficiency.
• Complete service reports and compliance documentation accurately.
• Ensure all work complies with health and safety regulations and standards.
• Build strong relationships with clients and site teams.
• Participate in call-out rota as required.

Orange Recruitment is working with a growing mechanical and building services contractor that is looking to add an experienced HVAC & Air Conditioning Technician to its team. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys fault-finding, maintenance, and solving technical issues across a wide range of commercial heating, ventilation, and cooling systems.

You’ll be responsible for supporting clients across various sites, ensuring critical plant and equipment remain operational, efficient, and compliant. The successful candidate will join a business that values practical engineering experience, provides ongoing support, and offers genuine opportunities to progress within the organisation.

Key Duties:

• Perform routine servicing, inspections, and planned maintenance on air conditioning, ventilation, refrigeration, and HVAC systems.
• Investigate equipment faults and carry out repairs on VRF/VRV systems, air handling units, fan coil units, extract systems, and related plant.
• Respond to breakdowns and resolve issues efficiently to minimise disruption for customers.
• Assess system performance and identify potential improvements to reliability, efficiency, and energy consumption.
• Complete service reports, maintenance records, and compliance documentation accurately using company systems.
• Ensure all work is carried out in line with health and safety regulations and industry standards.
• Maintain strong working relationships with clients, site managers, and facilities teams.
• Work closely with colleagues and management to deliver a high standard of service across all contracts.
• Participate in the company's call-out rota when required.

What We’re Looking For:

• F‑Gas Category 1 Certification.
• Previous experience working on commercial HVAC and air conditioning systems.
• Strong technical knowledge of VRF/VRV equipment, ventilation systems, AHUs, fan coil units, and associated mechanical services.
• Proven ability to diagnose faults and carry out repairs independently.
• Good organisational skills and the ability to manage workloads effectively.
• Customer-focused approach with strong communication skills.
• Full clean driving licence.
