Job summary

AMAX is seeking an experienced HPC/AI infrastructure engineer in Galway to design, architect, and implement GPU-accelerated clusters and AI/ML ecosystems. You will lead end-to-end deployment from pre-sales architecture to validation and integration in customer environments.

Responsibilities include optimizing compute/topology, interconnects, storage, and rack integration, with close collaboration to sales and manufacturing teams. Strong Linux scripting and automation are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in CS, EE, or related field.
• Hands-on experience with HPC clusters, AI/ML infra, or GPU-accelerated systems.
• Strong server architecture, CPU/GPU platforms, memory, storage, and networking knowledge.
• Experience with high-speed interconnects (InfiniBand, RDMA, NVLink, high-perf Ethernet).
• Familiarity with OEM server platforms, BIOS/BMC, firmware, and validation workflows.
• Understanding manufacturing and system integration processes (rack integration, burn-in, QA, deployment).
• Experience with Linux, Bash/Python, and system automation.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement HPC/AI infrastructure solutions (GPU clusters, storage, networking).
• Lead end-to-end solution lifecycle from pre-sales through deployment.
• Collaborate with sales to translate requirements into scalable AI/HPC designs.
• Configure OEM servers, BOMs, firmware tuning, and power/thermal considerations.
• Coordinate with manufacturing for validation, rack integration, burn-in, and production readiness.
• Deliver technical demos, POCs, and presentations focused on AI workloads and HPC.
• Support cluster bring-up, OS provisioning, workload managers, and GPU software stacks.
• Provide advanced troubleshooting across compute, GPU, storage, and networking subsystems.
