Job summary

CareChoice Group Ireland in Dungarvan is recruiting Full-Time and Part-Time Housekeeping and Kitchen Assistants for our nursing home. Duties include daily cleaning of resident rooms and common areas, safe handling of cleaning supplies, waste disposal, and supporting kitchen areas as directed.

The ideal candidate will have a caring, empathetic nature, good English, and the ability to work independently or in a team across varied shifts Monday to Sunday.

Qualifications

• Experience in a similar environment is desirable but not essential.
• Good level of English language skills required.
• Ability to work varied shifts and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Daily cleaning of general areas and residents' rooms.
• Proper use and storage of cleaning equipment and solutions.
• Collection and correct disposal of domestic waste.
• Clean spillages promptly and use wet floor signs.
• Maintain a safe and clean environment at all times.
• Rotational and flexible schedule according to needs.
• Keep kitchen areas clean and presented as directed by Head Chef.
• Assist with pot washing and dish washing as required.
• Some food handling and preparation duties.
• Report complaints and comments regarding the kitchen to the Head Chef.

We are currently recruiting Full Time/Part-Time Housekeeping/Kitchen Assistants, for our Dungarvan Nursing home.

The Ideal Candidate will have:

• Previous practical experience in working in a similar environment is desirable but not essential.
• Passion about elder care, providing residents with a safe, clean environment to live in.
• Ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• A professional, caring and empathetic nature.
• Be comfortable working in a sometimes challenging environment.
• Good level of English language skills.
• Availability to work varied shift patterns, Monday to Sunday.

Your Job will involve:

• Daily cleaning of the general areas and residents' rooms within the nursing home.
• Proper use and storage of cleaning equipment and cleaning solutions.
• Collection and correct disposable of domestic waste.
• Cleaning of spillages as they occur and proper use of wet signs.
• Ensure safe work practices are observed and the environment is safe at all times.
• The post will be rotational and flexible according to the needs of the nursing home
• Keep the kitchen areas clean and well presented as directed by the Head Chef and Chefs.
• Keep the pot washing and dish washing up to speed at all times
• Perform some food handling and preparation
• Report all complaints and comments regarding the kitchen to the Head Chef
