Technological University of the Shannon (TUS) invites applications for an Hourly Paid Part Time Assistant Lecturer in the Department of Pharmaceutical Science and Biotechnology, Midland Campus – Athlone, on a fixed-term contract for Semester II of Academic Year 2026/2027.

Candidates must hold a level 8 degree with honours, at least three years post-qualification experience, and ideally a Master’s degree and PhD in a relevant field, plus industrial/pharma experience and undergraduate teaching

Qualifications

• Relevant degree (level 8) with First- or Second-Class Honours from a recognised third level institution
• Not Less than 3 years relevant post qualification experience
• Hold a Master’s degree (level 9) in a relevant area
• Hold a PhD (level 10) or equivalent in a relevant area
• Industrial Experience in Pharmaceutical/BioPharma/Medtech and/or Postdoctoral Research Experience
• Undergraduate teaching experience and the supervision of final year student project work

We are recruiting for a Hourly Paid Part Time Assistant Lecturer - Department of Pharmaceutical Science and Biotechnology in Chemistry & Biochemistry (Midland Campus - Athlone) on a specific purpose contract of employment for Semester II of Academic Year 2026/2027.

Candidates must have at the date of closing:

• A relevant degree (level 8) with First- or Second-Class Honours of a recognised third level institution; or equivalent professional qualification.

and

• Not Less than 3 years relevant post qualification experience
• Hold a Master’s degree (level 9) in a relevant area
• Hold a PhD (level 10) or equivalent in a relevant area
• Industrial Experience in Pharmaceutical/BioPharma/Medtech and/or Postdoctoral Research Experience
• Undergraduate teaching experience and the supervision of final year student project work.
