Job summary

Qualifications

  • Strong communication and analytical/problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in IT and hotel software systems.
  • Ability to build relationships with associates, customers and vendors.
  • Two years accounting experience; hotel accounting preferred.
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA qualification.
  • Tertiary education in Accounting, Finance or related field.

Responsibilities

  • Roster management to align with demand and revenue expectations.
  • Weekly revenue forecasting for Food, Beverage and Spa.
  • Payroll processing including P30 returns.
  • Month-end accounts preparation with P&L and balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Purchase and stock management in line with business needs.
  • Assist in end-of-year audit and annual budget process.
  • Ensure robust financial controls and regulatory compliance.
  • Support income management for card, cash, and bank transfers.
  • Assist other departments with financial insights as needed.

Job description

Role: Senior Hotel Accountant
Reporting to: Commercial Manager

The broad purpose of your role will be to facilitate, support and guide the financial processes, recording and analysis of the business while supporting our teams in delivering the exceptional guest journey upon which The Address Collective defines itself.

You will be responsible for the Financial Reporting of the property as well as Analysis and Control. As a member of the management team, you will be a key contributor in the Annual Budget Process as well as Audit Preparation.

As a successful candidate you ideally will have experience in hotel accountant positions, be part-qualified or qualified by experience – proficient in all aspects of hotel accounting and looking for a new challenge.

As a member of The Address Collective team, you will be part of a growing Hotel Group that will provide continuous opportunities for learning, development and career progression within the organisation.

Responsibilities:

  • Effective Roster Management to adjust to business demands and revenue expectations working closely with other heads of department
  • Weekly Revenue Forecasting for Food, Beverage and Spa
  • Payroll Processing and payroll related activities (P30 returns)
  • Preparation of Month end Accounts including P&L and Balance Sheet Reconciliations and Bimonthly VAT Returns
  • Effective Purchase & Stock Management to align with business requirements working closely with other heads of department
  • Assistance in end of year audit working closely with auditors
  • Assistance in Monthly Forecasts & Annual Budget process
  • Ensuring Robust Financial Controls across the Business ensuring the business operates in compliance with relevant processes, laws and regulations
  • Ensuring the company remains profitable through effective budget management. Working alongside all other departments, advising on their financial impact, to effectively budget.
  • Ensuring effective income management for card, cash, cheque and bank transfers.
  • Any other ad-hoc duties

Requirements

  • Strong communication skills
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Proficient in IT & systems, ability to use software applications and hotel systems
  • Ability to acquire and maintain relationships e.g., associates, customers, vendors
  • Effective decision-making skills
  • Basic legal expertise related to hotel issues
  • Knowledge of overall hotel operations as they affect department
  • Tertiary education in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration or related field
  • At least two years Accounting experience
  • Hotel Accounting experience
  • Previous hotel Accountant role
  • ACA, ACCA or CIMA Qualification
