Hospital Chef – Kildare

We are seeking a Hospital Chef to join a healthcare facility in Kildare, delivering freshly prepared meals that support patient care and wellbeing. This is a rewarding position ideal for chefs with experience in hospital kitchens, HSE facilities, or high-volume catering environments.

  • Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare and present nutritious meals, in line with dietary and nutritional guidelines
  • Lead or support daily kitchen operations to maintain efficiency, quality, and consistency
  • Follow all HACCP, food safety, hygiene, and cook-chill protocols
  • Oversee stock rotation, food storage, and waste minimisation
  • Monitor portion control, food presentation, and allergen management
  • Collaborate with dietitians and clinical teams on menu planning and patient requirements
  • Maintain a clean, compliant, and organised kitchen environment
  • Requirements:
  • QQI Level 6 in Culinary Arts or equivalent professional chef qualification
  • Experience in a healthcare or high-volume catering environment
  • Strong knowledge of HACCP, food safety, and cook-chill processes
  • Legal right to work in Ireland and Garda Vetting clearance
  • Ability to provide 5 years of work references
  • Excellent communication, organisation, and time management skills
  • Flexible to work weekday and weekend shifts as required
  • Salary and Benefits: €20.29/hour, Full time Hours with Double Pay on Sundays and Bank Holidays; Day shifts only, Monday to Sunday roster; Ongoing support from office and out-of-hours teams; Make a meaningful contribution to patient care and wellbeing; Opportunities for upskilling and career progression
