Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for a Horticulturist to join our busy CountryLife branch in Ashford, Co Wicklow. As a valued team member, you will be essential to our branch's success by providing customers with a first-class experience, working alongside the Horticulturists and Branch Manager in the operation of our garden centre. This role is full-time during the Garden Season and part-time thereafter.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maximise the sales potential of the garden centre and garden products.
  • Maintain control of all stock to ensure a fresh offering to customers.
  • Ensure all garden centre displays are immaculate and appealing to customers, as first impressions count.
  • Assist the Manager in maintaining high standards in the garden centre and branch.
  • Top Class Customer Service:
  • Provide high-quality, fast, efficient, and friendly service at all times.
  • Build trusting relationships with customers and offer excellent service and advice.
  • Show keen interest in and understanding of our product range and services.
  • Other:
  • Develop and improve relevant areas across the branch.
  • Ensure health & safety requirements are met at all times.
  • Maintain good housekeeping in all relevant areas.

Key Requirements

  • Minimum 1-2 years relevant retail Garden Centre experience.
  • Knowledge and interest in the retail gardening industry.
  • Ability to multitask and consistently deliver high-standard work in a busy environment.
  • Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to prioritise.
  • A friendly, outgoing personality with excellent customer service skills and ambition to exceed customer expectations.
  • Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently.
