Overview

Horticultural Operative position at Sheelin Mushrooms Ltd, a family-owned company operating at Kilnaleck, Co. Cavan. We produce fresh mushrooms for the retail market. The business has grown over the past 30 years with a reputation for high quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Hand picking/harvesting and grading/sorting mushrooms
• Weighing mushrooms
• Hand picking to correct size and type
• Cleaning and preparing mushroom beds, work areas, sanitising picking tools, racks/trolleys and packaging areas
• Meet minimum productivity targets; bonus may be awarded for high productivity
• Work hours and days are variable due to the nature of the crop
• Start on short notice; induction and training are provided on site
• Work well on own initiative and with others; be flexible with working days/hours

Qualifications

• Previous experience is advantageous
• Basic education and/or a good working history
• Flexible, hard-working and honest with strong attention to detail
