Job summary

Bluebird Care Laois & Offaly is seeking Health Care Assistants to support clients in their own homes in Tullamore. You'll work under Clinical Nurse Managers with 24/7 clinical support and join a caring, dedicated team.

You'll deliver person-centred care, assist with daily living activities, and follow care plans to promote independence and dignity. Garda Vetting and QQI Level 5 are required; full driving licence and transport access are essential.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 in Care Skills & Care of the Older Person completed.
• Minimum 1 year experience in a healthcare setting.
• Garda Vetting (and International Police Clearance if applicable).
• Full driver’s licence and access to your own transport.

Responsibilities

• Personal care (washing, dressing, mobility, toileting).
• Meal preparation and light household duties; medication prompting and supervision.
• Providing companionship and emotional support.
• Supporting clients with Dementia, Alzheimer’s, and high-dependency needs.
• Following individual Care Plans and recording care provided.
• Reporting any concerns to the care management team.
