Job summary

Wilton Waste Recycling Limited in Co. Cavan is seeking an experienced HGV Mechanic for an immediate start at our Crosserlough facilities. The role requires 2-3 years of HGV experience; certification is desirable but not essential.

Duties include engine servicing, diagnostics, repairing ABS/EBS brake systems, and general heavy vehicle maintenance. Hours are 39 per week with a remuneration of €36,605 per year (€18.05 per hour).

Qualifications

2-3 years of HGV mechanic experience required.
Mechanic certification is preferred but not essential.
There are no minimum academic requirements.
On-site role in Co. Cavan; on the job training provided.

Responsibilities

Fit, install, maintain, service and repair engines and the mechanical and related equipment of heavy goods vehicles.
Detect and diagnose faults in engines and parts.
To fit, examine, test and service heavy goods vehicles and engines.
To replace engine components or complete engines.
To fit, examine, adjust, dismantle, rebuild and replace defective parts of HGVs.
Essential knowledge includes vehicle diagnostics and repairing & diagnosing ABS/EBS brake systems.
Essential skills include diagnosis and repair of trucks, trailers and vans.
Experience in installing and adjusting motors, brakes and steering.
Experience in installing, adjusting and servicing mechatronics components of HGVs.
Knowledge and experience of performing scheduled maintenance services such as oil changes and engine tune-ups.
