Job summary

Qualifications

• 1–3 years’ experience as an HGV driver
• CE or C1E licence recognised via mutual recognition
• On-the-job training provided; no minimum academic requirements
• Experience driving cargo trucks in urban and rural environments

Responsibilities

• Safely operate HGVs including loading and unloading cargo
• Deliver goods to locations on time and in good condition
• Conduct daily vehicle checks and report maintenance needs
• Comply with EU and Irish transport laws (tachograph, drivers hours)
• Maintain accurate delivery notes and logbooks
• Communicate professionally with customers, dispatchers and team members
• Follow safety protocols for transporting hazardous materials (if applicable)
• Ensure cargo security during transit
• Understand road transport legislation, cargo types and vehicle capacity
• Proactively anticipate on-road issues and manage GPS-based routing
