Job summary

Grasstec Ltd in Ireland is seeking an experienced Herd Manager to join a progressive dairy farm in Co. Tipperary. The 500-cow, spring-calving, grass-based system operates from a 37-unit swing-over parlour with modern infrastructure.

You will monitor herd health, lead vaccination and mastitis programmes, record AI and calving details, and manage grass allocations. Experience with tractors is advantageous; the role involves close teamwork with the farm owner and two other staff.

At Grasstec, we are recruiting on behalf of a customer for an experienced Herd Manager to join a progressive dairy farm in Co. Tipperary. This is an excellent opportunity to be part of a well-managed operation, milking 500 cows on a spring-calving, grass-based system.

Farm Facilities:

37-unit swing-over parlour

Modern infrastructure and equipment

Supportive team, working alongside the farm owner and two other staff members

Requirements:

Tractor and machinery experience (advantage)

Self-motivated, reliable, honest, and eager to expand knowledge and skills

Key Responsibilities:

Monitor livestock for health issues and administer treatment as required

Implement vaccination and herd health programmes

Record and maintain herd health data

Manage mastitis and dry cow programmes

Identify and treat lameness
