Job summary

Virtue Integrated Care operates a number of premium nursing homes across Ireland. They are currently recruiting Healthcare Assistants in the Southeast, specifically Signacare Killerig, Killerig, Co Carlow.

The role requires QQI Level 5 in Healthcare or equivalent, with elder care experience preferred. Nursing or allied health degrees may be considered. The position involves supervising staff, enhancing resident activity, and delivering high-quality care under supervision.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 Award – Healthcare or equivalent is required.
• Nursing or allied health degree may be considered.
• 2+ years elder care experience preferred.
• Ability to motivate and supervise colleagues.

Responsibilities

• Contribute to and enhance the quality of resident activities and events.
• Supervise and assist with the training and development of care assistants and appraise staff as requested.
• Coordinate with the Unit PIC and CNM to welcome new residents and ensure they feel secure.
• Ensure highest quality care is delivered to assigned residents.
• Participate in daily living activities and support care delivery under supervision.
• Support nursing staff in organizing day-to-day allocation of work.

Education

QQI Level 5 Award – Healthcare or equivalent

Nursing Degree / Allied Health Degree / Relevant Healthcare Degree

Elder care experience

We are currently recruiting for Healthcare Assistants in the Southeast.

Employer:

Locations:

• Signacare Killerig, Killerig, Co Carlow.

Contract Type:

Permanent, full-time – 39 hours per week.

Duties Include:

• Contribute to and enhance the quality of resident activities and events.
• To supervise and assist with the training and development of care assistants and appraise staff as requested
• By liaising with the Unit PIC and CNM ensure that adequate arrangements are made for the reception of new residents, and that they are made to feel welcome and secure.
• Ensure highest quality care is delivered by Healthcare Assistants to assigned residents.
• Participate in assigned and delegated tasks involving direct care and all activities of daily living under the direction and supervision of your line manager e.g., washing, toileting, dressing, undressing, dining, social activities, conversation, communication support and all other aspects of daily living
• Support the nursing staff in the organising of day-to-day allocation of work.

Requirements:

• QQI Level 5 Award – Healthcare or equivalent
• Excellent track record as a high performing Healthcare worker
• Elder care experience. (2 years + experience)
• Ability to motivate, supervise and inspire colleagues.
