Job summary

Codladh Sámh Teoranta in Cork is seeking a Healthcare Assistant to support elderly and disabled individuals across Cork City and county. You will provide compassionate care, support daily living activities, and work as part of the primary care team.

Requirements include QQI Level 5 or equivalent nursing certificate, a full Irish driving licence, and a good command of English. This full‑time role offers a stable schedule with 39 hours weekly and a meaningful contribution to the community.

Qualifications

• QQI Level 5 or equivalent nursing certificate required.
• Full Irish Driving Licence required.
• Good command of the English language.

Responsibilities

• Promote and encourage independence for all clients.
• Assisting with activities of daily living including showering, dressing, toileting and personal hygiene.
• Catheter and Stoma Care support.
• Supporting feeding and meal preparation; prompting medication.
• Light housework per care plan including commode hygiene and laundry.
• Provide companionship and accompany clients to hospital appointments and shopping.
• Deliver Alzheimer’s and dementia care activities and step-down/end‑of‑life care as appropriate.
