Job summary

Haven Wood Retirement Home in Bishopscourt, Co. Waterford, is seeking staff to support residents with activities of daily living and to provide person-centred care that preserves privacy and dignity.

You will help establish respectful relationships and promote the ethos of care, participate in social outings, and keep dining rooms and living areas clean and welcoming for residents.

Qualifications

• Must have started or completed FETAC/QQI Major Award Level 5 in Healthcare or equivalent.
• Modules in Care of the Older Person, Infection Prevention & Control, Nutrition, and Palliative Care desirable.
• Current and valid Infection Control, Manual Handling, and Safeguarding of Adults certificates (training can be provided).

Responsibilities

• Support and assist residents in fulfilling activities of daily living and enable independence.
• Deliver a high standard of person-centred care reflecting privacy and dignity.
• Establish relationships based on respect and equality; promote the ethos of person-centred care.
• Organise social outings and in-house activities; maintain dining rooms and living areas in a neat, hygienic state.
