Health & Safety Officer – Dublin

Excel Recruitment is delighted to partner with a leading building materials provider to recruit a Health & Safety Officer for a full-time permanent position based in Dublin. This is an excellent opportunity to join a well-established and growing company that places safety, innovation, and sustainability at the core of its operations.

This role would suit an ambitious health & safety professional with 2-3 years of experience looking to develop within a fast-paced, high-performing environment that offers genuine career progression and long-term stability.

Responsibilities for Health & Safety Officer

  • Support the implementation and maintenance of the company’s health & safety management system across multiple sites.
  • Conduct regular site audits, inspections, and risk assessments, ensuring compliance with all relevant legislation and best practice.
  • Promote a strong safety culture by delivering toolbox talks, briefings, and staff training.
  • Monitor and review safety performance, preparing detailed reports for management and suggesting improvements.
  • Investigate incidents, accidents, and near misses and implement preventative measures.
  • Keep up to date with legislative changes and contribute to policy and procedural updates.
  • Work closely with line managers, site teams, and external stakeholders to maintain the highest safety standards.

Requirements for Health & Safety Officer

  • 2-3 years’ experience in a construction or industrial health & safety role.
  • Relevant qualification in Health & Safety (e.g., Diploma or Degree level).
  • Strong knowledge of Irish health & safety legislation and standards.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to influence and promote safety across a team.
  • Full clean driving licence essential.
