Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking an experienced Health & Safety Advisor for two hotel developments in South Dublin. You will support and promote a strong safety culture on site, ensuring compliance with Irish health and safety legislation and project requirements.

You will conduct site inspections, risk assessments and method statements, deliver inductions and toolbox talks, and liaise with management, subcontractors and consultants to maintain high safety standards.

Qualifications

  • Minimum Level 7 qualification in Health & Safety, Occupational Health & Safety, Construction Health & Safety or a related discipline.
  • Previous experience working in a construction environment is essential.
  • Previous experience within hotel, commercial, pharmaceutical or similar projects would be an advantage.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Full understanding of site safety procedures, risk assessments and method statements.

Responsibilities

  • Provide professional health and safety advice and guidance to the project management and site teams.
  • Monitor site activities to ensure compliance with relevant health and safety legislation, regulations and company policies.
  • Carry out regular site inspections and safety audits, identifying hazards and recommending appropriate corrective actions.
  • Assist with the preparation, review and implementation of Risk Assessments and Method Statements.
  • Support the development and implementation of project‑specific Health & Safety Plans.
  • Investigate accidents, incidents and near misses and assist with the implementation of preventative measures.
  • Monitor contractor and subcontractor compliance with health and safety requirements.
  • Deliver and assist with site inductions, toolbox talks and other safety training.
  • Maintain accurate health and safety records and documentation.
  • Liaise with site management, subcontractors, consultants and other project stakeholders on health and safety matters.
  • Promote a positive safety culture and encourage best practice throughout the project.
  • Keep up to date with changes in Irish health and safety legislation and industry best practice.
  • Support the Project Manager and Site Management Team in achieving the highest possible standards of health and safety.

The Role

We are currently seeking an experienced and proactive Health & Safety Advisor to join the project team for the construction of two hotel developments in South Dublin. The successful candidate will be responsible for supporting and promoting a strong health and safety culture across the projects, ensuring that all works are carried out in accordance with current Irish health and safety legislation, company procedures and project‑specific requirements.

What We Offer
