Job summary

The Orchard Care Group Ireland is seeking a Health Care Assistant to support individuals in a residential service. This role involves direct care, daily tasks, and working within a team to deliver HIQA-compliant standards.

The position requires a QQI Level 5 Healthcare qualification, at least one year of relevant experience, a full manual driving license, and eligibility to live and work in Ireland. Shifts include sleep-ins and nights as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 year experience in a similar environment supporting adults or children with intellectual and physical disabilities.
• Knowledge of adults/children with complex needs.
• Full manual drivers license (Ireland) and eligibility to drive.
• Eligible to live and work in Ireland.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the child/adults’ activities and care as assigned, ensuring high standard of care.
• Encourage recognition of the individual and prioritise family needs and comforts.
• Act as advocate and provide information and support to the person and family.
• Develop social interaction for the people we support, individually and in groups.
• Be aware of uses, safety precautions and handling of equipment.
• Participate in all communications - team meetings, staff forums, emails.
• Provide personal care when required.
• Maintain confidentiality of the people we support and organisation.
• Be flexible and willing to work shifts to meet service needs.
