Job description

My client is looking for a Health and Safety Officer to join their team in Co. Waterford. This is an excellent opportunity for the right candidate. There are opportunities for support in order to develop your skills and competencies.

The Role
  • Help prepare health and safety strategies.
  • Help carry out risk assessments, identify how risk could be reduced & produce reports to suggest improvements.
  • Carry out site inspections to check policies and procedures are being executed correctly on sites in ours.
  • Keep records of any inspections findings or accidents on site and produce statistics for managers.
  • Educate Line Managers, Supervisors & Maintenance personnel on all Health and Safety matters.
  • Partake in training with site management/staff about health and safety issues and risks
  • Ensure equipment is installed safely.
  • Liaise with all Contractors on correct risk assessments & site specific method statements.
  • After time provide advice on a range of specialist areas such as: fire regulations, noise & safe use of machinery.

Education & Experience
  • 2 year’s relevant experience ideally within the food industry.
  • Third level qualification.
  • Experience of working in a dynamic business is desirable.
  • Solid working knowledge of MS Office.
