Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor for Wexford, Rathcoole or Dublin Airport with a night shift (7pm-4am). You will help maintain safety standards across construction sites, review risk assessments, deliver inductions and investigate incidents.

A relevant H&S qualification and 3–5 years' experience are required, plus a valid driver's license and access to a car. The role offers a competitive salary of €65,000 plus benefits, with permanent employment and exposure to diverse

Qualifications

• 3–5 years' experience in a Health and Safety Advisor role.
• Strong knowledge of construction health and safety practices.
• Experience with HSQE standards and management systems.
• Excellent communication, organisational and investigative abilities.

Responsibilities

• Regularly review and update risk assessments, safe operating procedures, and safety statements.
• Deliver safety inductions for new employees and subcontractors with records.
• Investigate accidents and near-misses and drive corrective actions.
• Identify ongoing safety training requirements and ensure timely delivery.
• Ensure proper use of PPE by employees.
• Review subcontractors' safety statements and compliance.
• Attend safety meetings and enforce department policies.
• Provide accident information for insurance purposes.

About Your New Job

Reporting directly to the Health and Safety Manager, you will help ensure that health and safety standards are maintained across construction activities and project sites.

• Regularly review and update company risk assessments, safe operating procedures and safety statements.
• Deliver safety induction training for new employees and subcontractors, while maintaining accurate documentary records.
• Investigate, record and report accidents, incidents and near-misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented promptly.
• Identify ongoing and new safety training requirements, ensuring mandatory training is reviewed and delivered on time.
• Ensure all relevant employees have access to and correctly use the required personal protective equipment.
• Review subcontractors' safety statements and safety compliance.
• Attend regular health and safety meetings and enforce Health and Safety Department policies.
• Provide relevant accident information for insurance purposes.

What Skills You Need

• A relevant third-level qualification in Health and Safety.
• 3-5 years' experience in a similar Health and Safety Advisor position.
• Full clean Drivers License and Access to a car.
• Experience working with relevant HSQE standards and management systems.
• Proven ability to complete safety inspections and prepare detailed risk assessments.
• Strong knowledge of construction health and safety practices.
• Excellent communication, organisational and investigative skills.
