Job summary

Sigmar Recruitment is seeking a Health & Safety Advisor for Wexford, Rathcoole or Dublin Airport on a night shift (7pm–4am). You will work on high-profile construction sites, ensuring safety standards are maintained across activities.

Reporting to the Health and Safety Manager, you will review risk assessments, deliver inductions, investigate incidents, and ensure training and PPE compliance. This role offers a permanent position with an engineering-focused construction company.

Qualifications

• Requires a third-level qualification in Health & Safety.
• Minimum 3 years’ experience as Health & Safety Advisor.
• Experience with HSQE standards and management systems.
• Proven ability to conduct safety inspections and prepare risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Review risk assessments, safe operating procedures and safety statements.
• Deliver safety inductions for employees and subcontractors with records.
• Investigate, record and report accidents and near-misses, implementing corrective actions.
• Identify training needs and ensure timely delivery of mandatory training.
• Ensure PPE access and correct use for all employees.
• Review subcontractors’ safety statements and compliance.
• Attend health and safety meetings and uphold department policies.
• Provide accident information for insurance purposes.

About Your New Job

Reporting directly to the Health and Safety Manager, you will help ensure that health and safety standards are maintained across construction activities and project sites.

• Regularly review and update company risk assessments, safe operating procedures and safety statements.
• Deliver safety induction training for new employees and subcontractors, while maintaining accurate documentary records.
• Investigate, record and report accidents, incidents and near-misses, ensuring corrective actions are implemented promptly.
• Identify ongoing and new safety training requirements, ensuring mandatory training is reviewed and delivered on time.
• Ensure all relevant employees have access to and correctly use the required personal protective equipment.
• Review subcontractors’ safety statements and safety compliance.
• Attend regular health and safety meetings and enforce Health and Safety Department policies.
• Provide relevant accident information for insurance purposes.

What Skills You Need

• A relevant third-level qualification in Health and Safety.
• 3 years’ experience in a similar Health and Safety Advisor position.
• Full clean Drivers License and Access to a car.
• Experience working with relevant HSQE standards and management systems.
• Proven ability to complete safety inspections and prepare detailed risk assessments.
• Strong knowledge of construction health and safety practices.
• Excellent communication, organisational and investigative skills.
