Job description

Our Client a leading organisation in the Energy Sector are looking to attract an experienced Head of Treasury & Capital Planning to lead the organisation’s treasury operations and capital strategy, with a strong focus on supporting renewable energy project development. Reporting to the CFO, this role will be responsible for managing liquidity, optimising the capital structure, mitigating financial risks, and ensuring robust financial planning to support long-term strategic goals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee day-to-day cash management, ensuring adequate liquidity and optimised cash balances. Develop and maintain detailed cash flow forecasting models aligned with operational and strategic priorities.
  • Manage banking relationships, secure favourable financing, and ensure access to competitive debt and credit facilities.
  • Lead the structuring and execution of financing for renewable energy projects, including debt and equity raising, and joint venture funding arrangements.
  • Balance the company’s capital structure to minimise cost of capital while aligning with long-term growth and value creation objectives.
  • Deliver semi-annual bank ratio and covenant reporting across various debt arrangements.
  • Design and implement the Treasury Policy, covering risk mitigation strategies for currency, interest rate, commodity, and electricity market exposures.
  • Ensure full compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal governance requirements in all treasury and capital planning activities.
  • Provide financial risk oversight, including counterparty credit risk management.
  • Support external reporting requirements including auditors, regulators, and funding partners.
  • Collaborate with the Finance Projects Manager and Senior Financial Modeller to deliver financial modelling, deal structuring, and risk analysis for infrastructure and energy investments.
  • Maintain strong relationships with financial institutions, negotiating competitive terms and innovative financial instruments in support of capital projects.
  • Monitor borrowing limits and covenant compliance while ensuring capital availability for current operations and future development.

The Successful Candidate will be:

  • Degree-qualified in Business, Corporate Finance, or related discipline, with a minimum of 10 years’ experience in treasury, capital planning, or corporate finance roles.
  • Proven track record in the renewable energy sector or multinational is desirable.
  • Strong leadership experience at a senior management level.
  • Demonstrated success in project financing, ideally within large-scale infrastructure or energy.
  • Advanced financial modelling and analytical skills, with ability to evaluate complex financial structures.
  • Strategic mindset with an ability to align financial decision-making to long-term business goals.
  • Results-oriented, with a clear focus on value creation, innovation, and delivery.
