Job summary

EirGrid is seeking a Head of System Integrity to provide strategic, technical and operational leadership across protection, metering, energisation, policy and fault investigations to ensure the safe, secure and compliant operation of Ireland’s transmission system.

You will lead across protection schemes, grid readiness and revenue metering data, partnering with asset owners and project teams to deliver renewable integration programmes and network reinforcement.

Qualifications

• Engineering degree with significant leadership experience in power systems.
• Strong knowledge of power system protection and HV switching.
• Experience designing and managing protection schemes.
• Understanding of transmission station design and related systems.
• Led multidisciplinary engineering teams on complex programs.
• Solid governance, risk management and decision-making capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Provide governance of power system protection policy and coordination.
• Ensure protection devices and designs align with policy requirements.
• Direct investigations of disturbances and protection maloperations.
• Oversee energisation and readiness for grid connections.
• Embed operational requirements in lifecycle of capital and connection projects.
• Establish best practice in revenue metering data feeds.
