Job summary

ICDS Group in Tipperary is seeking a Head of Engineering to drive performance and reliability in a fast-paced food manufacturing setting. You will lead engineering and maintenance across the site, ensuring equipment and infrastructure meet safety, quality and compliance standards.

You will develop standards, oversee calibration and maintenance programs, set KPIs, and report to senior leadership. The role requires strong leadership and cross-functional collaboration with production and quality

Qualifications

• Previous experience in food manufacturing environments (food, FMCG or pharma).
• Supervisory experience, overseeing calibration and repairs on production equipment.
• Experience with Maintenance and Quality Systems in food manufacturing, including deviations, RCA, training, and documentation; strong communication.

Job description

Head of Engineering - Tipperary. In this role you will drive engineering performance and reliability in a high-paced production environment. You will be responsible for leading and co-ordinating all engineering and maintenance activities across the site, ensuring that all equipment and infrastructure are maintained to the highest standards of performance, reliability, and compliance. This includes managing both corrective and preventative maintenance programmes in line with Health & Safety and company regulations. The role involves close collaboration with production, technical teams, and external suppliers to swiftly resolve equipment issues, reduce downtime, and support continuous improvement. The Engineering Manager is also responsible for overseeing the sites maintenance and calibration schedule, setting and tracking engineering KPI's, and reporting performance to senior leadership.

Interested applicants should have

• Previous experience working in a similar food, fmcg or pharmaceutical environment
• Previous experience in a supervisory role, supervising calibration and repairs on production equipment
• Experience and an in-depth understanding of Maintenance Systems and Quality Systems for a food manufacturing environment, including but not limited to, deviations, root cause analysis, training, and good documentation practices. Able to provide updates and tracking on tasks. Good communication skills required, both verbal and written
