Job summary

Mastercard in Ireland is seeking a Director of Security Engineering for Blockchain and Digital Solutions to lead a security engineering team and shape security strategy across crypto and digital product programs.

You will partner with engineering, product and leadership to drive security-by-design, manage risk, and ensure trust in online transactions. The role requires deep cryptography knowledge, blockchain security, and regulatory experience across SOC 2, PCI DSS, and related frameworks.

Qualifications

• Proven ability to lead technical security teams and make balanced engineering decisions for critical software products.
• Strong leadership and people development capabilities.
• Experience with cryptography, security protocols, and blockchain security principles.
• Knowledge of security standards and regulatory requirements (SOC 2, PCI DSS, DORA, CRI).

Responsibilities

• Manage a security engineering team, providing guidance for career growth, project support, performance and quality.
• Mature security engineering capability; clarify procedures, build skills, improve consistency and scalability.
• Serve as a trusted advisor to engineering and business leaders across Cryptocurrency Blockchain Products and Digital Solutions programs.
• Lead security reviews of new and existing systems to meet internal and industry standards.
• Support program teams in managing security risks to an acceptable level, including reporting and analysis.
• Influence and implement security requirements, standards, and architectural patterns for large-scale crypto products.
• Cultivate relationships with stakeholders across the organization.
