Job summary

Perform Recruitment is recruiting an Engineering Technician for a well-established food manufacturing site in Co. Cavan.

You will maintain, troubleshoot and improve mechanical equipment across the production facility, collaborating with Production, Technical and Engineering teams to minimise downtime and support site growth. You will carry out planned and reactive maintenance, diagnose breakdowns, and assist with installation and upgrades while reading technical drawings and schedules.

Qualifications

• Qualification in Mechanical or Maintenance Engineering.
• Proven experience in mechanical maintenance in fast-paced production (food/manufacturing).
• Strong fault-finding and problem-solving skills.
• Comfortable with pneumatics, hydraulics and mechanical production equipment.
• Hands-on approach with good attention to detail.
• Flexibility to support shift or on-call cover.

Responsibilities

• Carry out planned and reactive maintenance on production and packaging machinery.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical breakdowns quickly to minimise downtime.
• Assist installation, commissioning and upgrades of new equipment and lines.
• Read and work from technical drawings, manuals and maintenance schedules.
• Identify opportunities for process and equipment improvements.
• Ensure work complies with food safety, hygiene and health & safety standards.
• Maintain accurate maintenance records and complete documentation.
• Collaborate with engineering and production teams on continuous improvement.
• Participate in larger capital and improvement projects as site grows.
